Mabon is the second of our three harvest festivals. It is a reminder to “reap what we sow,” both literally and figuratively, our own crops and intentions.Night and day stand equal in length; make it a time to express gratitude for your blessings, and ask for their prosperity, complete projects, and honor a moment of balance.
Mabon Ritual of Thanks
Needed:
White, brown, purple, or gold candle
Apple or pear
Cider
Paces:
Sit skyclad or loosely clothed.
If your path calls to do so, open your circle.
Light your chosen candle.
Reflect on what you have to be thankful for.
Cut fruit in half to show the five-pointed star in the center and eat in quiet reflection with a glass of cider.
Extinguish the candle if it has not burned out.
If you opened a circle, close it.
Blessed Be.
Mabon Blessing & Protection Plank
Needed:
Cedar plank: drives away negative energies, cleanse, heal, and protect.
Natural fiber twine/yarn/jute, etc
Gather whole pieces of several/all of the following in your yard or garden, at your local grocer, tree farm, etc., as you feel are needed:
Basil: prosperity, success, peace, protection, happiness, purification, tranquility, and love
Rosemary: protection, improving memory, wisdom, health, and healing.
Sage: purification and protection, wisdom, health, and long life.
Moss:perseverance, patience, nurturing, grounding, serenity and calm.
Oak (preferably a twig with leaves and/or acorns): Truth, steadfast knowledge, protection.
Paces:
If your path calls for it, open your circle for magical crafting.
Gather herbs together and tie in a bundle. (They will dry naturally while hanging.)
Drill/poke two small holes at the top center of your plank.
Cut a shorter piece of twine, and run through the cedar hole front to back, tieing a looped knot (for hanging)
Cut a longer piece of twine and run from the back to the front of the plank.
Lay the bundle on the plank and wrap the twine around the bundle and the plank several times.
Tie a knot at the back of the piece of cedar so it is tight enough to hold all the pieces together.
Hang up in a closet or other location to purify and protect the home.
Note: Cedar above/on the entry door will drive away negative influences and evil spirits.
If you opened a circle, close it.
Blessed Be.

Note: Many spells/rituals are mine and just as many have been adapted (some in small ways, some as to be unrecognizable) from a shared grimiore I found online when first beginning years ago, that I can no longer find to credit. Thank you, whomever you were. Let me know if you find me. To everyone always remember: YOU DO YOU!
